Hi! My name is Rebecca Zilberstein and I’m from Miami, Florida. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Clark University, and Certification in Special Education from the University of Central Florida.
For the past 8 years, I worked in a bilingual, international school in the Dominican Republic where I taught math, science, and reading & math intervention to students from around the world. I am a passionate and creative educator, always looking to make my classes fun, interactive, and different.
I have completed the IMSE Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Course, am in the process of pursing higher certification, and have taken a variety of multisensory math and writing courses. By implementing these strategies in my classes and tutoring sessions, I have been able to see incredible growth in my students’ reading and math abilities as well as their confidence levels.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and being outside with my husband and our dog. I’m excited to be able to play Math this year at The Academy Virtual!
